Pepperoni Bread
Ingredients:
1 loaf frozen bread dough
2 eggs
1 tsp. oregano
dash of garlic
8 oz. pepperoni (thinly sliced)
1/2 lb grated cheese (colby or cheddar)
Directions:
Thaw 1 loaf of frozen bread dough according to directions. Do not let it rise.
Roll out on floured surface to cookie sheet size (oblong)
Cut dough in half to make 2 loaves
In a small bowl beat 2 eggs and add oregano and garlic, mix well
Brush 1/2 of egg mixture over dough
Layer pepperoni over both halves of dough avoiding about 1/2 inch on all sides
Place cheese over pepperoni, again avoiding edges
Rollup each half and seal edges
Placed on ungreased cookie sheet or jelly roll pan with seam sides down
Brush with remaining egg mixture and bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes until nicely browned
Cool slightly and cut on the diagonal
Can be served warm or room temperature
